The Mu.SA project is featured in a new article, Digital Social Innovation and the Evolving Role of Digital in Museums. Authored by Haitham Eid, Associate Professor/Director, Master of Arts in Museum Studies Program, Southern University at New Orleans (USA) and published in the proceedings of MW19 Conference in Boston, MA (April 2 – 6, 2019). The article presents Digital Social Innovation (DSI) as a potential framework that can manifest the mission of museums as agents for social change. Within this context, the author argues that developing “a [museum] workforce that is: digitally literate; confident and competent; diverse and inclusive; and socially conscious and proactive,” as modeled by the Mu.SA project, can significantly improve the social impact of museums.
